Star Wars: X-Wing

New to X-Wing? Confused?

The original X-Wing was released back in 2012.  To play you need the base game ("Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game"), and then you can add ships as desired to increase your fleet.  For this 1st edition game you need to buy 1st edition ships only.

Now, in 2018, Fantasy Flight have released X-Wing 2nd Edition.  This is a new, improved, version.  For the 2nd edition you need to buy the 2nd edition ships.  You will also need a copy of the 2nd edition base game ("Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game (2nd Edition)"). Over time Fantasy Flight will re-release many the 1st edition ships as 2nd edition.

In the mean time, you can buy 2nd edition conversion kits (for each faction) that will allows you to use 1st edition ships in the 2nd edition game.

So if you're an existing 1st edition player you can convert your existing 1st edition ships to use in the new game, or if you're a new player you can use the 1st edition ships to bulk our your fleet while you're waiting for the 2nd edition ships to be launched.  Currently, there is only a small selection of 2nd edition ships available, so buying 1st edition ships (with the conversion kit) is still the best option if you want some variety.

Note: The "Epic" (Large) ships and some others from the 1st edition are currently unsupported.  Check the list of ships on the appropriate conversion kit to see which ships can be converted.  If it's not on the list, it can't be used in the 2nd edition,
